Periwinkle Way Bridge Repair Project Begins April 22; Will Last One Day.

The City of Sanibel issued the following news release.

The City of Sanibel will be carrying out maintenance repairs on the Periwinkle Way canal bridge and box culvert.

The repair to the Periwinkle Way Bridge, located between Tulip Lane and Pen Shell Drive will commence Friday 4/22/2016 and is anticipated to be completed in one day. This project will not impact automobile traffic. Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience to boat traffic with a slight possibility of minimal wait time while the contractor clears access for boaters.


Repairs to the Periwinkle Way Box Culvert, located between Anchor Drive and South Yachtsman Drive, are scheduled for Wednesday 4/27/16. There will be intermittent road closures down to one lane of traffic, though significant delays are not expected. The work here is also anticipated to be completed in one day. The public is reminded to DRIVE SLOWLY and CAUTIOUSLY through the areas when workers are present. This project is not expected to impact boat traffic.
