“The history of Bailey’s General Store is pretty much the history of Sanibel Island. From it’s packing house and store at the foot of Bailey Road, where the ferry from the mainland would pick up and drop off visitors to and from the mainland, pre-causeway, to its commercial plaza at Tarpon Bay Road and Periwinkle Way, Bailey’s has been an integral part of the fabric of Sanibel Island.
Each year, that relationship is re-energized by Bailey Fest. This event is as traditional as it gets. Bailey’s opens up their parking lot for the Pumpkin Patch, Pony Rides, Mule & Wagon Rides, a Bounce House, Singing & Dancing, Ice Cream and the BIG ARTS Chorus!” – Source: westwindinntruesanibel
