Gator & Crocodile Tales, Sanibel & Captiva

Cost of the program is $5 per adult, with members and children attending for free.

As recently as several years ago, a very large Florida Crocodile lived in the “Ding” Darling preserve, along with the many alligators that are in the preserve and are present throughout Sanibel & Captiva Islands.

Hear the story of that Crocodile, how she was relocated south and swam back to Sanibel and many other stories about alligators and crocodiles on Sanibel & Captiva.

The biology of alligators and crocodiles is an ancient tale of survival.  Florida’s history of gators and humans is closely intertwined.

Learn about these living dinosaurs and what we must do to ensure our safety and their survival on the islands.
