“Jeff Schmid, Environmental Research Manager for the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, has been gathering information about the world’s most endangered sea turtle in local waters for 10 plus years.
He has satellite tagged Kemp’s Ridleys, documenting their seasonal migrations in Charlotte Harbor, Pine Island Sound, and now in the Ten Thousand Islands.
Come and learn about the riddles of the Ridleys that live as juveniles in our estuary, including why red tide events affect them so detrimentally. Friday, January 30 at 10 a.m.”
