The HuffPost had a summary blog piece on the sugar industry’s ties to both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders prior to to the Democratic Presidential debate yesterday.

“”A more pointed question to ask of the Democratic candidates in tonight’s televised debate: “Big Sugar is the symbol of corporate welfare in the U.S. The industry controls Tallahassee and Washington, DC through massive campaign contributions. Have you ever accepted free travel or trips to the Dominican Republic from sugar billionaires? Yes or no.”” HuffPost

This question didn’t get asked.  The Democratic Presidential Debate did briefly touch on climate change, fracking in Florida, etc.

Here’s is NBC News’ quick summary.

“What to Do About Climate Change?

Climate change is a key issue in Florida, which faces the threat of rising sea levels. Both candidates emphasized the need to address global warming, with Bernie Sanders calling for a tax on carbon and Hillary Clinton calling for investment in “resilience and mitigation” while cutting emissions.”  NBC
