Sad closure for the families and friends of two men who drowned off Sanibel in the last week in separate incidents.
The body of a lost kayaker was recovered off the Sanibel Causeway yesterday. Andrew Barber had been fishing last Friday evening with a friend when the kayak they were in overturned. For more information please see news-press.com and the related stories below.
Earlier this week, the body of Chad Winter was recovered. He had been paddle boarding just off Algiers beach when the wind came up and he fell into the water. He also may have had unrelated health issues that contributed to the drowning, according to news-press.com.
Coast Guard and Lee County Sheriff officials said both incidents emphasized the importance of the use of life jackets at all times on the water.
