The Department of Environmental Protection issued the Daily Lake Okeechobee update news release.
For Immediate Release: March 1, 2016, 12:31 PM/E
“Caloosahatchee Salinity Conditions: Salinity (based on optimal conditions for adult oysters) decreased and is in the good range at Sanibel, and in the poor range at Cape Coral and Shell Point.
St. Lucie Salinity Conditions: Salinity at the U.S. 1 bridge remains the same and continues to be in the poor range.
Rainfall Forecast: Rainfall for the current week is forecast to be below average. A low pressure front will pass to the north, so the chance of rainfall looks poor with this front. High pressure should dominate over the weekend and through most of next week. The next chance for significant, widespread rainfall appears at the end of next week.”
