Things continue be quiet and positive on the red tide update for Sanibel & Captiva Islands.
There are no red tide conditions near Sanibel & Captiva at this time.
Here are the current red tide conditions from today’s 10-1-14 midweek Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission red tide report.
Midweek Red Tide Update (October 1, 2014)
“A patchy bloom of Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, continues in the northeast Gulf of Mexico. Samples collected along and offshore of Taylor, Dixie, and Levy counties contained very low to high concentrations of K. brevis.
Due to cloud cover, satellite images are not available this week.
Additional samples analyzed throughout Florida this week did not contain Karenia brevis.”
