Nice Palm Beach Post “Ding” Darling Article

The Palm Beach Post published a nice story on “Ding” Darling & Sanibel Island.

“If you’ve ever been to Sanibel, chances are you spent some time at J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. The gorgeous 6,300 acres of jungle mangrove forests and wetlands were named for a prize-winning and conservation-minded political cartoonist.

A great place to hike or bike, the refuge is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with 230 species of our fine-feathered friends, including herons, ospreys, ibis, white pelicans and lots of roseate spoonbills. Be sure to bring your binoculars and go early in the morning and a half hour after low tide for the best bird watching.”
