Sanibel Burglaries On Beach Front Condominiums
The City Of Sanibel Police Department issued the following news release.
COMMUNITY ALERT
Burglaries of Beach Front Condominiums Citizens and Visitors Advised to Take Precautionary Measures
“Sanibel Police Department is reporting three condominium rental units located along the beach have been burglarized two Saturdays in a row, January 16th and January 23rd, 2016.
These burglaries occurred between the hours of 11:00PM and 6:00AM. Two of these condos were occupied at the time of the burglary.
We are looking for a male, approximately 20-30 years of age, approximately 6’tall, slender, wearing all black. These burglaries happened on East Gulf Drive and West Gulf Drive. All of these units were unlocked.
Chief Tomlinson said ‘All of the Burglaries could have been avoided if people had locked their doors.’
The Sanibel Police Department advises residents and visitors to take precautionary measures to safeguard their property and valuables by making sure to lock all doors and windows and to hide all valuables.
Chief of Police William Tomlinson requests that if any suspicious persons or activity is observed or if you know any information that could help solve these crimes to call the Sanibel Police Department immediately at 239-472-3111 or dial 911 in case of a life threatening emergency.”
