Sanibel Causeway Traffic Up 2.8% In September, Trend Continues.

Recent vehicular traffic growth trends continued in September; Sanibel Causeway traffic was up 2.8%.

Judie Zimomra, Sanibel City Manager, released the September statistics in and October 15 report for today’s City Council meeting.

Total vehicular causeway traffic was 197,119 compared to 191,824 in Septmber 2013.  The highest recorded traffic for September was experienced in 2000 when 224,860 vehicles crossed the causeway.

2014 Sanibel Causeway traffic has shown consistent growth each month this year, with a low of a 1.9% increase in January and a high of 5.3% in April.
