Sanibel Causeway Traffic Up 3.5% In August

Recent vehicular traffic growth trends continued in August; Sanibel Causeway traffic was up 3.5%.

Judie Zimomra, Sanibel City Manager, released the August statistics in a September 29th report.

Total vehicular causeway traffic was 234,804 compared to 226,855 in August 2013.  The highest recorded traffic for August was experienced in 2001 when 257,564 vehicles crossed the causeway.

2014 Sanibel Causeway traffic has shown consistent growth each month this year, with a low of a 1.9% increase in January and a high of 5.3% in April.
