Red Tide is not present and is a non-issue this year for Sanibel & Captiva Islands. Red Tide season has pretty much wound down and potential concern won’t return until the rainy season this coming summer and fall.
FWC reported a trace of karenia brevis in one sample off Broward County on the East Coast Of Florida. Here’s yesterday’s FWC update.

“Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected at background concentrations in one sample collected offshore of Broward County.
Additional samples collected throughout Florida this week did not contain K. brevis.”
