Sanibel Red Tide Status, December 20, 2014.
Continued good news on the Sanibel red tide update.
While FWC reported a trace of karenia brevis in one sample off Lee County, red tide has been and is likely to continue to be a non issue for Sanibel & Captiva Islands this year.
Here’s yesterday’s FWC update.
Red Tide Status (December 19, 2014)
“Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was found in background concentrations in one sample collected alongshore of Lee County and in background to very low concentrations in two samples collected offshore of Monroe County.
Additional samples collected throughout Florida this week did not contain K. brevis.
Due to the holiday, a red tide status report will not be posted next week. The next red tide status report is scheduled for posting on Friday January 2, 2015.”
