Continuation Of Discussion Regarding Sanibel City Council Compensation.
The Sanibel City Council continued the discussion of the merits of some form of additional monetary consideration for Sanibel City Council members.
Mayor Kevin Ruane, other members of the council, and members of the public expressed their frustration and regret regarding anonymous personal attacks that have been directed at Mr. Ruane because of his support for some form of modest additional compensation for council members.
Mr. Ruane stated that any proposed change in compensation would have to be approved in a referendum and that any change in compensation, if it was to occur, would not occur during his tenure on the City Council.
The discussion is scheduled to continue in the December 2nd City Council meeting.
