Southwest Florida International Airport September Traffic Up 8.2%.

Southwest Florida International Airport released September passenger traffic statistics.

“During September, 366,038 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 8.2 percent compared to September 2013.

Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 4.3 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in September was Delta with 81,989 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (63,550), JetBlue (46,872), US Airways (39,259) and American (32,862).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 3,899 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 4.2 percent compared to September 2013. Page Field saw 6,020 movements, a 19.4 percent increase from September 2013. In addition,  slightly more than 2.3 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in September 2014, an increase of 0.2 percent compared to September 2013.

Southwest Florida International Airport served more than 7.6 million passengers in 2013 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic.”
