Hurricane Charley 10 Year Anniversary: Checkpoint Charley @ Blind Pass
When we reentered Captiva Islandfor the first time on Thursday, August 19, 2004, there was a big National Guard presence.
The National Guard established a “Checkpoint Charley,” at the Blind Pass Bridge, where you had to identify yourself as a home or business owner to get on to Captiva Island.
