A traffic study was conducted to in order to determine whether vacationers were speeding through the neighborhood and disrupting and endangering the community.
According to NBC 2:
The traffic study included a license plate survey where a person would jot down the last three digits of the driver’s license plate at the entrance while another person at the exit road would do the same to keep track of the vehicle. If the vehicle came through within ten minutes it was considered a “pass thru” and noted for their investigation.
They found 62% of the drivers were passing through which is more than half of the community’s traffic. NBC 2
